Override an OnCall assignment
OnCall gives you the ability to override an on-call user assignment by assigning a different user during a scheduled time. Creating an override can be helpful if a scheduled user is temporarily unavailable and someone else needs to take their shift. Overrides let you make temporary schedule changes without having to modify the schedule itself.
The user in the override receives any notifications the originally scheduled user would have received during the period defined by the override.
To create an override:
Navigate to OnCall > OnCall.
On the Schedules tab, click inside the schedule with the assignment you want to override.
On the schedule configuration page, under the Base Schedule, click Add Schedule Override.
From the OnCall Responder list, select the user who will take the place of the configured on-call user in the Base Schedule.
Choose when the override will begin using the Start Date and Start Time selections.
Choose when the override will end using the End Date and End Time selections.
Click Create Override.
An entry is added to the Override Schedule. If no Override Schedule existed for the calendar before, it is created.
The override user will now be on call during the period defined by the Override Schedule instead of the user in the Base Schedule. The Final Schedule displays the users who are scheduled to receive notifications, taking into account the Base Schedule as well as any changes from the Override Schedule.
