Metric chart reference

The following diagrams and tables detail the features available in metric charts.

Chart controls

The controls at the top of the page let you change the way all the charts display:

The time period displayed in the chart.

Possible selections include: Last 10 minutes, Last 30 minutes, Last hour, Last 6 hours, Last day, Last week, or Defined Range (user-selected time and date).

Chart controls

  • Zoom out: Expand out to view a larger time range

  • Zoom in: Focus in to view a smaller time range

  • Back: Move to an earlier point in time

  • Forward: Move to a later point in time

  • Small, Medium, Large: Controls the size of the chart

Chart information reference

Each chart includes the following:

A

The source node for the metric.

The fully-qualified name of the managed object that defines the configuration settings for the metric

C

The name of the the metric displayed in the chart

D

The number of detected anomalies in the current time window.

The highest data value within the current time window.

Set the aggregation view:

  • Raw: Displays the most recent data points (up to 10,000) observed.

    NOTE: The Raw option is only available for range selections of 24 hours or less. If the range you have selected includes more than 10,000 data points, you will be prompted to selected a smaller range.

  • Sampled: Highlights the overall means, medians, and sigmas for sampled data during the current time range selection. Shows when, and for how long, the metric transitioned between an in-bound and an anomalous state.

  • Boxplot: Highlights the distribution of the data based on quartiles, from the lowest to the highest data point. Boxplots make it easy to see how the distribution of data points varies from one time bucket to the next.
