View alert details

The Alerts page includes a top pane, listing all alerts for the current view, and a bottom pane, which lists details for the currently selected alert in the top pane (or, the most recently selected alert when multiple alerts are selected).

Update alert information

You can perform multiple actions on alerts in the details pane:

  • Update any groups assigned to the alert.

With an alert selected, click Select Group under assigned groups in the bottom pane and select one or more groups from the list.

    Note

You can assign multiple groups to an alert, and you can unassign some or all of them.

Assigning a group to an alert does not also assign the group to any incidents which include the alert.

  • Update the assignee for the alert.

With an alert selected in the top pane, click Select User under assignee in the bottom pane and select a user from the list. Alternatively, click Assign to Me to assign an alert to yourself.

  • Update the status of the alert (In Progress, Resolved, Closed).

With an alert selected, click under status in the bottom pane and select a status from the list.

Tabs

The details pane at the bottom of the page displays information in a tabbed format for an alert selected in the top pane. The tabs included are as follows:

Details

A list of fields in the alert with non-NULL values. For a list of possible fields, see View alert fields.

Incidents

A list of the incidents where the alert is included as a member.

Events

Details of the events received which were deduplicated to create the selected alert. The timeline shows the changes occurring between the related events over time, as well as details for individual events. For information, see View events in the event timeline.

Metric

If the alert was initiated as a detected anomaly in a metric, the metric chart including the anomaly displays on this tab.

Outbound

A list of the field values for alerts that include external fields, populated either by an outbound webhook or manually via API.
