Add Comment action

This action adds a comment to an incident. For more information on using comments, see Use comments with incidents.
This action takes the following inputs:
Comment Text
The text box content displays as an incident comment in the Comments panel when the incident is selected in the Situation Room or on the Incidents page. The Add Comment action supports substitution and macro syntax.
Note
There is a 1000-character limit for the comment message content. The text box attempts to enforce this limit, but substitution and macros can cause the length of the message to vary. If the character limit is exceeded by the comment posted to the incident, the message will be truncated to 1000 characters.
Incident example
You can use the Add Comment action to call out a change to incident data caused by workflow processing. When a workflow makes a change to the fields in an incident using an action, such as adding tags or changing values, you can insert an Add Comment action after the action which changes the data. Add Comment provides a space to add a human-readable comment to the incident which explains how and why the data changed.
To also send an email notification in addition to adding a text comment, use the Send Announcement action.
