VMware vSphere

You can install the VMware vSphere integration to enable Moogsoft AIOps to collect event data from vSphere.

See the vSphere documentation for details on vSphere components.

Before You Begin

The VMware vSphere integration has been validated with vSphere v. 6.0 and v. 6.5 . Before you start to set up your integration, ensure you have met the following requirements:

  • You have the hostname or the IP address of the VMware vSphere instance.
  • You have credentials to connect to the VMware vSphere account.
  • The port for your VMware vSphere server is open and accessible from Moogsoft AIOps.

Configure the vSphere Integration

Configure the vSphere integration in Moogsoft AIOps as follows:

  1. Navigate to the Integrations tab.
  2. Click VMware vSphere in the Monitoring section.
  3. Follow the instructions to create an integration name and and supply the connection information for your vSphere server.

See Configure the vSphere LAM for advanced configuration information.

Configure vSphere

You do not need to perform any integration-specific steps on your vSphere server. After you complete the configuration, Moogsoft AIOps requests event data from your vSphere system every 60 seconds.

If the integration fails to connect to one or more vSphere sources, Moogsoft AIOps creates an alert and writes the details to the process log. Refer to the Logging details for LAMs and integrations for more information.
