SolarWinds

You can install the SolarWinds integration to enable Moogsoft AIOps to collect event data from the SolarWinds Orion Platform.

The integration polls the SolarWinds system for new data every 60 seconds and uses HTTPS with basic access authentication. In the case of failed requests, Moogsoft AIOps stops requesting data from SolarWinds after 10 consecutive failed pull requests.

See the SolarWinds documentation for details on SolarWinds components.

Before You Begin

The SolarWinds integration has been validated with SolarWinds v. 11.5 and v. 12.2. Before you start to set up your integration, ensure you have met the following requirements:

  • Download and enable the Orion SDK on your SolarWinds installation.
  • Ensure the specified port for SolarWinds is open. The default is 17778.
  • You have the hostname or IP address for your SolarWinds Orion Platform server.
  • You have the username and password for your SolarWinds account.

Configure the SolarWinds Integration

You can configure the SolarWinds integration in Moogsoft AIOps as follows:

  1. Navigate to the Integrations tab.
  2. Click SolarWinds in the Monitoring section to open the SolarWinds integration.
  3. Follow the instructions to create an integration name and supply the connection information for the SolarWinds.

See the SolarWinds Integration Reference for advanced configuration information.

Configure SolarWinds

You do not need to perform any integration-specific steps on your SolarWinds system.

After you complete the SolarWinds integration, Moogsoft AIOps polls SolarWinds every 60 seconds to collect alert data.
