Configuring SSL in Dynatrace APM

SSL Configuration

To configure SSL, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the Dynatrace AppMon Client.
  2. Click on Settings , then select Dynatrace Server.
  3. In the Dynatrace Server Setting dialog, click on Certificate Management , then click on Start wizard.

  4. Click on Next in the Check preconditions dialog.

  5. Enter the IP Address of the Dynatrace Server in the Issued to (Subject) field, and the Issuer name e.g. "Dynatrace APM Server" in the Issuer field, then Click on Create private key .

  6. Click on Next.

  7. Click Export to file to save the generated certificates at the desired location, then click on Next.

  8. Click on Next.

  9. Click on Next . The Dynatrace Server is restarted.

  10. Click on Finish, then click on Ok in the Dynatrace Server Setting dialog.
  11. Unzip the downloaded certificates.
  12. Open a command prompt and navigate to the unzipped directory where the downloaded certificates are present.
  13. Run the following command:

    keytool -genkey -alias <aliasName> -keyalg RSA -keystore KeyStore.jks -keysize 2048

    Note

    In the above command, for <aliasName>, enter any desired alias name e.g.dynatrace

  14. Run the following command:

    keytool -import -alias <aliasName> -file certificate-chain.pem -keystore KeyStore.jks

    Note

    In the above command, for <aliasName>, enter any desired alias name, other than the one used in the above step e.g.moogsoft

  15. Copy the generated KeyStore.jks to the machine where the Dynatrace APM LAM is running.

The Dynatrace SSL is configured.
